Malusi Mthuli Provincial Head (KZN) at FNB Commercial Property Finance Malusi began his 18-year career in property valuations at the eThekwini Municipality in Durban and went on to work in the private sector. This is where he broadened his experience whilst working for JHI, Nedbank Corporate Property Finance and Investec Specialist Bank leading up to FirstRand Group. His previous notable roles include Head of Property Risk: Johannesburg, Head of Property Risk: Eastern & Southern Cape both at Investec; Head of Valuations: Rand Merchant Bank and currently Head of Valuations: FNB Commercial property Finance, both subsidiaries of the FirstRand Group. Prior to being elected President in 2021, he served as the Deputy President of the South African Institute of Valuers and Deputy Chair of the No for three years and more recently as a Chairman of the Northern Branch. Malusi has completed the National Diploma in Real Estate, B.Com. Honours in Property Valuation and Management, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. He is due to graduate in 2021 with an Masters in Business Administration, for which his research treatise is titled “The Future of the Property Valuation Profession in South Africa towards 2040”. Malusi’s passion for PropTech has led him to be a significant voice in the development of an online valuation workflow system which provided qualitative and quantitative input into the Basel models, and delivering a Commercial Property Index. Malusi is married with three kids, two girls and a boy. He enjoys playing golf and travelling during his spare time.

Dhevan Pillay CEO of LTM Energy Dhevan Pillay, a recipient of a Standard Bank scholarship and an Eskom bursar, is a professional engineer who has completed his MSc Engineering degree at the University of KwaZulu Natal. He is also an accredited professional (AP) with the GBCSA. He headed the drive in Eskom focusing on demand response and energy efficiency for the large corporate customers in South Africa. He won the Eskom Chairman’s awards in the field of energy efficiency in 2008 to 2010. Dhevan is an external examiner for Engineering MSc students in UKZN and UJ. He has published and presented technical papers in many parts of the world including USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. He represented South Africa at the BRICS conference on October 2020 with focus on the green economy. He is the current Group CEO of LTM Energy, a registered Tier 1 ESCO, that have implemented several successful case studies in the energy and water management space including renewable energy. LTM Energy were previous winners for “eta”, SAEE, Africa Energy and AEE (international) Awards for their innovative projects implemented with blue chip clients. In 2020 and 2021, LTM Energy have won 3 global and 3 local awards respectively for their innovative projects as per the following link: https://ltmenergy.co.za/news/ He is the president of the ESCO (Energy Services Companies) Association of Southern Africa (EASA) and a member of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Industrial Advisory Board. LTM have recently partnered with the Bill and Mellinda Gates Foundation to focus on innovative off grid sanitation. Dhevan’s challenge and passion is in providing innovative solutions and strong leadership in the “green” economy and in so doing reducing the global carbon footprint.

Lyndon Storer Valuer at Jamrec Property Solutions Lyndon Matriculated in 1983 in Kimberley and went on to study agriculture at UOFS, obtaining the qualification B. Agric in 1988 and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Agriculture (MSA) in 1999. In 2005 he enrolled for the NDREE (Extramural), obtaining the Unisa qualification in 2011 and passing the board exam of the SACPVP in 2012. Lyndon worked extensively in the Agricultural field, as an extensionist (MGK: 1990 – 1994), Animal Feed Nutritionist / Representative (OTK:1994 – 2000), Banker and Agri Specialist / Economist: EC Border Region (Absa: 2000 – 2005). He started working as a valuer from June 2005 onwards, working widely across the country in various companies (Spectrum / DDP / Jamrec Property Solutions / Nedbank), moving from Nedbank as Business Bank Regional Valuer (EC, FS and KZN Region) in July 2018 to work independently. Thereafter, Lyndon, as an independent valuer works in associations with the Agriland Group, Jamrec Property Solutions and others, and continues to build his career in the agricultural field and valuation profession. Lyndon has addressed the SAIV and BASA presentations related to valuations on a number of occasions during the past 7 years.
