    Joy Boraine is a seasoned Professional Property Valuer with 20 years of experience in the industry. Holding a National Diploma in Real Estate focusing on Valuations, Joy has demonstrated expertise in a broad spectrum of property types. For the past eight years, she has served as a Senior Valuer at the local authority level, where she has been involved in the completion of two General Valuation Rolls.

    Before her current role, Joy gained extensive experience as a Valuer in the private sector, working for various valuation companies. Over a span of 12 years, she specialized in agricultural, commercial, and specialized valuations, building a strong foundation in these areas.

    Joy is an executive member of the Central Branch of the South African Institute of Valuers and a registered member of the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession. Her commitment to the profession is evident through their active involvement in these organizations, where she contributes to the advancement and regulation of the property valuation field.

    In addition to their professional career, Joy is studying towards certification in data science, specializing in programming. She has also recently graded to the rank of Brown 3rd kyo in karate and is pursuing her black belt, demonstrating a dedication to continuous learning and personal development.

    Dianne De Wet

    President, SAIV and Professional Valuer at Massel Property Services

    Dianne de Wet is a Professional Valuer in private practice. She obtained a National Diploma in Property Valuation and was appointed a director of the company that she worked for at that time. She has since read for an MBA from the University KwaZulu-Natal and graduated in 2020.

    Dianne has been involved in property since 1993 and has served as financial director of the Institute of Realtors from 1996 – 2001, she was appointed as a member of the South African Council for Property Valuers Profession in 2014 and completed her second term in 2022.

    She was appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee for the Valuer General’s Office in 2018 for a three-year term, which has been extended by another two years.

    She is currently the President of SAIV and a Member of the KZN Branch Executive Committee. She has served as a Branch Executive Member of the SAIV KZN Branch since 2010. Dianne boasts a wealth of experience within the industry

    Ali Su Greybe-Smith is a Professional Associated Valuer. She obtained her Honours in Property Studies from UCT in 2006. Following her studies she joined the Department of Transport & Public Works in their Property Management Department for a year, after which she joined the Valuation Department at Old Mutual. During her time at Old Mutual she completed valuations of the Old Mutual portfolio as well as for external clients. She left Old Mutual in 2013 to live in Kuwait. Upon returning and after a short stint at JHI she re-joined the Old Mutual Valuation team until its closure in February 2017. This push, lead her together with a few colleagues to start Sterling Valuation Specialists. She continues to service predominantly the listed sector and a few of her current clients are Attacq, Atterbury, Growthpoint, Momentum, Old Mutual, Redefine, and the Waterfront. She has over 15 years’ experience in the property valuation industry. Over the years she has also been an active member of SA Institute of Valuers. She has two young boys aged three and eight, so finds herself juggling work and family and spends a lot of time at the Bike Park or at the BMX track.

    Motlatso Maloka, is a Professional Registered Valuer with the SACPVP, has 17 years of experience in MPRA Valuations from CoJ. She joined the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform in 2012 as a director and was transferred to OVG in 2015.She is now Acting as Valuer-General, holds a National Diploma in real Estate from Unisa and a BSc [Hons] in Real Estate from University College of Estate Management: UK. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Henley Business School. She is a member of SAIV and won SAIBPP100 public sector award 2023 for her work in the public sector.

    Professional Property Valuer at Rode and Associates (Pty) Ltd

    Monique Vernooy, a Professional property valuer at Rode, now part of The Valuator Group, had the opportunity to return to university to study her first love, property, at the age of 36. Now with three small children, Monique completed her B.Tech in Quantity Surveying at Cape Technikon and was employed by Rode and Associates after graduating. She gained widespread experience in property valuations to qualify as a Professional Valuer. Monique also obtained her M.Sc in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and Erwin Rode was generous enough to allow her to be involved as a part-time lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology for 18 years, lecturing the Property Valuation subject at second-year level. So, although a later starter, Monique has been blessed to join her two passions, property and lecturing, for a fulfilling career.
