This event will feature a masterclass titled "Life's Lessons – Adapting & Thriving," where esteemed valuation professionals will share industry insights.

Ken Davies Professional Valuer at Ken Davies & Associates
Ken Davies Professional Valuer at Ken Davies & Associates Ken Davies joined the City of Durban Treasurer’s Department in December 1962 as a trainee accountant. He then studied part-time for a B.Comm degree at the then University of Natal. In 1966, he transferred to the Real Estate Department, and was appointed as a property valuer in 1969. In 1972, entered into private practice, completing the two year Programme for Real Estate Practitioners at UNISA, followed by a Master’s Degree at the same institution. He served on the National Executive of the SA Institute of Valuers, was Chairman of the KwaZulu-Natal Branch, Vice Chairman of the Pinetown Valuations Appeal Board, and served on the KwaZulu-Natal executive of the South African Property Owners’ Association. He was a part-time lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Technikon Natal (Durban University of Technology) and served as external examiner at both institutions and UCT. Ken is a Life Member of the Institute.
Robert Roper Retired Member at Roper & Associates
Robert Roper Retired Member at Roper & Associates Robert Roper is a Retired Member at Roper and Associates. He hold a Bachelor of Science in Building Science and Management, a National Diploma in Property Valuation, a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Certificate from the Institute of Estate Agents. Additionally, he is appointed as an appraiser by the South African Ministry of Justice. Robert is a Fellow of the South African Institute of Valuers.
Trevor Richardson Director of Beare Holdings
Trevor Richardson Director of Beare Holdings Trevor Richardson has an excess of 30-years experience in Property Management, Property Development and Property Valuations as well as 30-years experience as a Quantity Surveyor. Trevor has contributed materially to the maintenance of valuation and quantity surveying standards across SA with a lectureship at the University of KwaZulu Natal and examiner at the Durban Institute of Technology. Previously, he was an Advisor to the Honourable MEC regarding the implementation of the Municipal Property Rates Act and expert Witness in High Court regarding valuation and quantity surveying matters. Trevor has been a member of the KwaZulu- Natal Branch of the SAIV for the past 21 years. He is a Past President and Life Member of the SAIV.
Martin Fitchet Director of Knight Frank
Martin Fitchet Director of Knight Frank Martin Fitchet is the Direct of Knight Frank South African. As a practising valuer, he specialises in business development across Southern and West Africa, overseeing project and workflow management throughout these regions. His expertise encompasses property research, development, and financial modelling, with a focus on quality control management in valuations. He is proficient in implementing valuation systems for rating purposes and adept at managing valuation methodologies. Martin is a Life Member of the Institute.
Dianne De Wet President at South African Institute of Valuers
Dianne De Wet President at South African Institute of Valuers Dianne de Wet is a Professional Valuer in private practice. She obtained the ND in Property Valuation and was appointed a director of the company that she worked for at that time. She has since read for an MBA from UKZN and graduated in 2020. Dianne has been involved in property since 1993, serving as financial director of the Institute of Realtors from 1996 – 2001. She was appointed as a member of the Council for Property Valuers Profession in 2014 and is completing her second term. She was appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee for the Valuer General’s Office in 2018 for a three year term, which has been extended by another 2 years. She has served as a branch executive member of the SA Institute of Valuers in KZN since 2010. She was involved in the start of a Mentorship Programme for the SAIV in KZN, which has been rolled out to the rest of the country. Dianne currently serves as the SAIV President.
Graham Allan KZN Branch Chairperson at South African Institute of Valuers
Graham Allan KZN Branch Chairperson at South African Institute of Valuers Graham entered the property industry in 2005 when he joined the Acutt Property Group as a real estate agent operating in Durban’s Greater Bera. He soon attained a desire to obtain a formal qualification in the property sector and he registered in 2007 as a candidate property valuer with the SACPVP. Graham became a qualified Professional Valuer in 2012. Apart from valuation work, he has also worked as a Commercial & Industrial broker with Andrew Wood Properties and latterly with the Acutts Group with whom he operated in the major industrial suburbs in the Greater Durban area. Graham is also an appraiser registered with the Department of Justice. He has been a member of the SA Institute of Valuers since 2007 and he has served in the KwaZulu-Natal committee since 2016 and is currently its chairman. Graham is also an Associate Member of RICS (the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors). In terms of formal education, he has attained the following: 1) a Bachelor of Science Degree from Edinburgh University 2) a Post-graduate Diploma in Management from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh 3) a Diploma in Real Estate from Unisa Graham enjoys music in many of its forms and he enjoys walking in any environment.
