Malusi Mthuli Provincial Head (KZN) at FNB Commercial Property Finance
Malusi Mthuli Provincial Head (KZN) at FNB Commercial Property Finance Malusi began his 18-year career in property valuations at the eThekwini Municipality in Durban and went on to work in the private sector. This is where he broadened his experience whilst working for JHI, Nedbank Corporate Property Finance and Investec Specialist Bank leading up to FirstRand Group. His previous notable roles include Head of Property Risk: Johannesburg, Head of Property Risk: Eastern & Southern Cape both at Investec; Head of Valuations: Rand Merchant Bank and currently Head of Valuations: FNB Commercial property Finance, both subsidiaries of the FirstRand Group. Prior to being elected President in 2021, he served as the Deputy President of the South African Institute of Valuers and Deputy Chair of the No for three years and more recently as a Chairman of the Northern Branch. Malusi has completed the National Diploma in Real Estate, B.Com. Honours in Property Valuation and Management, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. He is due to graduate in 2021 with an Masters in Business Administration, for which his research treatise is titled “The Future of the Property Valuation Profession in South Africa towards 2040”. Malusi’s passion for PropTech has led him to be a significant voice in the development of an online valuation workflow system which provided qualitative and quantitative input into the Basel models, and delivering a Commercial Property Index. Malusi is married with three kids, two girls and a boy. He enjoys playing golf and travelling during his spare time.

Russel Glass Energy Economist Russel Glass is an Energy Economist with some 40 year experience in the Petroleum and Transport Sectors. Russel is an analytical economist at heart, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience on major strategic issues facing the sector and has held a leadership role both at the company and at a Sector level for many years. Having recently retired as a senior executive from a global petroleum company, Russel is well recognised across the Sector as a subject matter expert on a range of matters.

Jerry Margolius Managing Member at Jerry L Margolius & Associates Jerry Margolius holds a Masters Degree in Property (Construction Economics and Management) and holds a National Diploma in Property Valuation as well as a Higher Diploma in Arbitration. He is a Fellow/Life member of the of the SA Institute of Valuers and a Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators*. Jerry has been actively involved in the property valuation profession for over 40 years. Included amongst its client base Government Departments, Embassies, Listed Companies, Private Companies, Trusts and individual property Owners. His specialist fields are litigated valuations and acting as an expert witness, expropriation, specialised properties, land restitution, municipal valuations as well as running a general valuation practice. Jerry Margolius is a Fellow/life member and past president of the SAIV having also served on both the SACPVP and Council for the Built Environment (CBE). He is also a Fellow member of the Association of Arbitrators and has been appointed as a Mediator for Land Rights. Jerry is the managing member of Jerry L Margolius & Associates CC and a Director of Margin Property Valuation Services (Pty) Limited. He is married to Hilary and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He also edits the SA Valuers Manual and serves on various boards and committees from time to time. He was part of the team that initially attended on the Municipal Property Rates Act as well as the Property Valuation Act after introducing the Valuer-General concept to the Government.
