Read Bio Dean Ward Dean Ward holds a National Diploma in Property Valuation, National Diploma in Property Development and Management, a post graduate diploma in business management and various other qualifications. He is a well-known figure in the property valuers profession with over 30 years’ experience in property valuation. He has contributed to the academic field as a lecturer in property valuation and property law at CPUT for 12 years. He has worked as a consultant valuer for many leisure development projects and hotel valuations in Africa and the Far East including China and Thailand. He has presented papers on valuations and property tax as a guest speaker at national and international conferences. He is currently contracted to the City Council of Cape Town.

Read Bio Roshinee Naidoo Roshinee has obtained a B.Adm degree with Economics & Public Administration majors; the ND in Property Valuation; CEA; Certificates in Sugarcane Agriculture; Project Management; Monitoring and Evaluation and completed several courses that have assisted in the Industry and environment she works in. Also accredited as a Trainer and Assessor. She joined the eThekwini Metro in 1988 and commenced her career in property valuations in June 1989. In mid-2006 she went into private practice, a sole member of (RNPC) Roshinee Naidoo Property Consultants cc. Since 2007, the bulk of her work was in the MPRA space at the KZN Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA). Project Managing the implementation of the MPRA from 2007 until March 2018 in all KZN municipalities. At the end of March 2018, she left KZN Cogta as the Deputy Director: Municipal Finance (MPRA) due to multiple Board and Committee appointments. Roshinee was the first woman of colour to qualify and to be registered as a Professional Valuer in SA, a Sworn Appraiser appointed in terms of s6 (1) of the Administration of Estates Act. She has won several awards for her achievements. One such notable award was winning both the Regional and National title from the Women’s Property Network for being Professional of the Year: The Public Sector. Roshinee was also one of many advisors to the previous MEC: Local Government and Traditional Affairs (LGTA) on MPRA matters; served on Valuation Appeal Boards across KZN, served on the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV), both at the National and KZN Branch Executive level for over 10 years, the former Vice Chair of the KZN Branch Executive in April 2013/April 2014. She was also part of the editorial Panel for the SA Valuer. She is the immediate past Vice President of SACPVP. Whilst at SACPVP, she served two terms, 8 years in total, was Chairperson of the PR&M and Education and Standards Committee of SACPVP. Lectured to students at the SACPVP Work school and presented at Seminars on MPRA. She presented the MPRA Standards at the Afres Conference in Accra, Ghana in 2022. She also served on the Local Government Sector & Training Authority (LGSETA) Accounting Authority, serving both in Fincom and Remco. She was appointed to the SSETA Real Estate and Related services Chamber (RERSC) and Chairperson of the Valuation Cluster. Roshinee is currently the Chairperson of the VRAC (Valuation Review & Advisory Committee) of the Office of the Valuer General; recently appointed to the Women in AFRES Executive responsible for the Southern Region which comprise 10 countries and to the University of Free State (UFS) Academic Advisory Board (AAB).

Read Bio Thys Beukes Thys Beukes is registered as a professional valuer with the SACPVP. He has been in the profession full time since 1992. His core function is to perform valuations of fixed and moveable assets. He previously served as the Chairman of the Central Branch of the SA Institute of Valuers seated in Bloemfontein and now serves as an executive member of the Southern Branch. Thys has delivered many presentations and talks on commercial, specialized and farm valuations at seminars hosted by the SAIV and has an in depth knowledge of the valuation of these types of properties. Thys started his own valuation company, MRB Property Valuations in April 2014. This company is a service provider to various financial institutions, government departments, mining companies and municipalities for commercial, residential, specialized and agricultural valuations. This company also has various service level agreements with national valuation companies.

Read Bio Malusi Mthuli Malusi began his 18-year career in property valuations at the eThekwini Municipality in Durban and went on to work in the private sector. This is where he broadened his experience whilst working for JHI, Nedbank Corporate Property Finance and Investec Specialist Bank leading up to FirstRand Group. His previous notable roles include Head of Property Risk: Johannesburg, Head of Property Risk: Eastern & Southern Cape both at Investec; Head of Valuations: Rand Merchant Bank and currently Head of Valuations: FNB Commercial property Finance, both subsidiaries of the FirstRand Group. Prior to being elected President in 2021, he served as the Deputy President of the South African Institute of Valuers and Deputy Chair of the No for three years and more recently as a Chairman of the Northern Branch. Malusi has completed the National Diploma in Real Estate, B.Com. Honours in Property Valuation and Management, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
